Title

Exploring your Metaphor: Kintsugi

Advisor

Josh Issard

Degree Name

Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing

Description

In this session, I will share with you part of my short story named Kintsugi (Golden Joinery). Most of my inspiration for my writings stems from my everyday life and personal experiences. What’s your metaphor? Kintsugi is an ancient Japanese art of mending back broken pieces (or in this case relationships) with gold like substance. My goal for this session is for you to be inspired in hopes that you will think creatively. You will have an opportunity to freely write for ten minutes at the end of the session to reflect about the session or write about what inspires you to be here today.
