Title

Health Literacy in Times of COV-19 and Beyond-Christine Taylor CHOP

Presenter Information

Galileo-W Conference

Description

Christine Taylor, PT, DPT, MPH

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

This topic means a lot to me, as I regularly see patient outcomes determined largely in part by health literacy or social barriers. For instance, I encounter babies with severe plagiocephaly or developmental delay diagnosis that often could have been avoided with timely education on infant development, positioning, and appropriate toy play by age. I think the role of a monthly community series covering pediatric to adult topics could serve as an invaluable resource to families looking for a place to learn or ask questions they otherwise don't know where to direct. Thankfully, I had a great public health education that taught me to think about these things! I would love your support and assistance in making something like this happen and look forward to the opportunity to discuss more in depth.
