Abstract

This capstone examines the traditional approach to STEMI admissions in hospitals, highlighting the lack of flexibility in adapting admission procedures to individual patient needs. Hospitals typically follow the standard practice of triaging patients through the ED without considering each patient's specific situation. This rigid approach limits opportunities for personalized care and may overlook factors that could inform more tailored admission decisions. The paper explores the idea of implementing a criteria entitled SLAC that aims to individualize the admission with the goal of decreasing intra-operative and post-operative PCI complications.
