Abstract
The level of return to play in athletes that are afflicted with ACL injuries is considered generally to be generally high. However, American football continues to demonstrate the highest number of ACL injuries (53%) in professional sports, and the outcomes are considered to be the worst among its NFL athletes1.
Their ability to return to their own individualized peak performance remains variable based on several factors. This includes rehabilitation choices, portal drilling, reconstruction techniques, and the focus of this article which is graft choice. Identifying the most appropriate graft choices in the most recent medical literature will aid in future outcomes of professional football players.
