Abstract

Shoulder pathologies consist of a wide variety of conditions which often cause pain and debilitation. The most common chronic shoulder pathologies include rotator cuff pathology, adhesive capsulitis, and osteoarthritis. These occur in a large percentage of the population and can affect people of any age, gender, activity level, and with any degree of comorbidities. This article offers a concise comparison of these disorders with decision making tools regarding treatment options based on recent literature. Evidence based practice is employed in order to compare some of the older, more commonly used treatments with newer options for providing treatment to patients with shoulder pathologies.
