Abstract
This paper discusses the Viking jewelry and clothing found in the Galloway Hoard, St. Ninian Isle Treasure, Talnotrie Hoard, and the Staffordshire Hoard. Within these hoards scholars can determine whether the original owners were of upper, middle, or lower class based on how the materials were preserved and the amount of detailing put in the pieces themselves.
