Abstract

Over the last 300 years, the academic journal has grown to become a fundamental part of the process through which public and private institutions share their intellectual capital, communicate developments in their respective fields, and confer the status of the organization to their peers and the interested public at large. Although we currently exist in a social media world that has allowed for greater and broader connectivity, this interconnectedness and almost instantaneous access to information across these ubiquitous media platforms lack the scholarly scrutiny certain issues demand. Thus, this current issue of The Journal of International Relations, Peace Studies & Development represents our ongoing effort to communicate and promote a broad range of interdisciplinary scholarship that addresses key political, environmental, social, and cultural subjects to a growing and interested public. Moreover, it serves as a source for those seeking to help educate the broad public across these platforms by sharing our authors’ research and analyses.
