Abstract
Chronic vulvar itching and chronic vulvar pain are common complaints encountered by clinicians working in gynecology. However, recently published studies have shown that reaching a diagnosis for these common complaints may take years from the onset of symptoms. Utilizing guidelines developed by the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease, as well as recognizing the similarities and differences between certain vulvovaginal disorders, can aid clinicians in more quickly reaching a diagnosis.
