Abstract
Although cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS) has been studied for almost twenty years, it is a poorly understood and under-recognized condition. With cannabis legalization and use skyrocketing, many more people are likely to suffer from this affliction. Emergency department physician assistants having a better understanding of how to recognize, diagnose, and treat CHS patients on their first presentation will save patients from a long, frustrating road to diagnosis, and will save millions of dollars in unnecessary healthcare costs.
