Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is most common joint complaint in the United States, and is the primary indication for knee replacement surgery each year. The mainstay of treatment includes long-term use of anti-inflammatories, often associated with toxicity with long-term use. Therefore, this review aims to answer the question: In patients with osteoarthritis (OA) [P], will curcuminoids [I] improve joint pain, function, and inflammation [O] compared to standard treatment or placebo [C]?
