Abstract

The purpose of this article is to provide an outline of various treatment options for DCIS. For patients diagnosed with DCIS, selecting a treatment plan that is right for them can be challenging. As clinicians, we must provide patients with up-to-date clinical information while considering individuals' unique needs. Offering clinicians this critical assessment of current management plans will allow clinicians to be better equipped to help patients with complex decision-making. To date, there are few articles offering a side-by-side comparison of management options with the risks and benefits of each. This article intends to fill this gap and provide updates on the future direction of DCIS management.
